planning nonprofit

I’m proud to be a featured writer in the most recent issue of Source magazine, published by the Florida Society of Association Executives.  In my article, “Can Nonprofits Justify Not Planning?,” I explore the age-old dilemma so many nonprofits face. If they invest in planning, will it pay off? If they don’t, will it hold them back?

My answers are: Yes and yes.

In my experience, organizations that are too busy to plan are, in large part, “winging it.” If winging it is your plan, too, then my advice is this: Don’t be surprised at your inability to be as effective as you’d like.
